A 47-year-old woman from Region Seven is Guyana’s latest COVID-19 related death. She passed away over the weekend in a medical institution.
The total number of COVID-19 related deaths now stand at 139.
As of midnight Saturday, there were 29 new cases of coronavirus in Guyana with the majority of those new cases in Regions 4 and 10, according to the Ministry of Health.
There are still more than 800 active cases across the country with the majority of those persons in home isolation.
As the holiday shopping season begins, the Ministry of Health is encouraging citizens to remember the importance of physical distancing and wearing a mask while out in public.
