trade increasing by 213 per cent over the past five years.

And Ambassador Haiyan committed the country’s assistance in some of Guyana’s developmental priorities: infrastructure, digital transformation, energy and electricity.

“We will continue to encourage Chinese companies and financial institutions to participate in Guyana,” the Ambassador highlighted too.

To commemorate the golden jubilee, the Chinese embassy in Guyana has launched an online photo exhibition on Monday which illustrates notable achievements over the past 50 years. It includes government visits, major projects done and generally, contributions of the Chinese in Guyana.

Earlier this year, as part of the celebrations for this jubilee also, China and Guyana signed an agreement that will see China investing between US$10 to US$12 million to construct a China/Guyana Friendship Park at Schoonord, West Bank Demerara.

This means that the popular Joe Vieria Park will soon be transformed into a modern recreation space.
