Alexis De Camp, a 25-year-old of Byderabo Road, Bartica, was charged with the offence of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of alcohol.
According to the police, his breath alcohol level exceeded the
prescribed limit, contrary to Section 39(A)(1) of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 51:02, as amended by Act 17 of 2022.
He appeared on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Ravindra Mohabir, where he pleaded guilty and was fined $200,000 GYD, or in default, six months’ imprisonment.
