Internet connection at Waramadong Primary to be addressed – Parag

Minister of Education, Sonia Parag this week met with students and teachers of the Waramadong Primary School in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), where she committed to addressing the internet connectivity and other concerns raised at the school.

Minister Parag visited the region, where she inspected schools and the progress for the new school being built at Jawalla. She told the teachers that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents of hinterland regions.

“Hopefully, before the year is out, there are certain things that the headmistress has spoken to us about in relation to the school and we will look to see how we can be able to help you to get the internet or internet access at the school.

“I know that is something that is important for you,” Minister Parag said.

She assured that the ministry will undertake that task to ensure that the students at the school have access to information.

In her address to the students, Minister Parag encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and to approach their examinations with confidence and determination. Her remarks were directed to the students who are preparing for their second Mock Exams in March, as they prepare for the National Grade Six Assessment in April.

“I want to wish you all the best as you head into those exams and I want you to concentrate and focus because the government is making resources available to you so that you can do well, and I know your teachers are preparing you for those exams,” Minister Parag said in her charge to the students.

She added that the government is making massive investments into the education system in hopes of securing prosperous futures for the students.

Minister Parag also expressed appreciation to the teachers for their dedication and service to the nation’s children, acknowledging the challenges they face while carrying out their duties.
