Shawn Gonsalves appeared before the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Friday, after being charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
The charge was instituted under Section 35(1) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 51:02. The accused appeared before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs, where the allegation was read to him. He entered a plea of not guilty.
Bail was granted in the sum of $750,000, and the matter was adjourned to April 28, 2026.
