An intoxicated fight between two Sophia, Georgetown men has left one with a fractured jaw and another with a fractured skull.
The incident occurred in Mahdia, Region Eight.
Police said at about 00:30hrs on Saturday at 111 Miles, Mahdia, Potaro-Siparuni, a 27-year-old male of North Sophia, and a 33-year-old male of ‘B’ Field, Sophia, were consuming alcoholic beverages at a supermarket when an argument ensued.
The argument escalated into a physical altercation during which both men were injured.
They were initially treated at the Mahdia District Hospital and subsequently escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for further medical attention. The 27-year-old sustained a fractured jaw and was later discharged on the said date. He was arrested and remains in police custody. The 33-year-old sustained a fractured skull and remains hospitalised under police guard.
CCTV cameras were observed and will be reviewed as investigations continue.
