Three persons were arrested on Wednesday night after Police Officers found a quantity of cannabis at the Four Miles Housing Scheme, Bartica.
In a release, Police Headquarters said a bag was thrown over the back fence of a building at the housing scheme where the three occupants were when ranks arrived at around 18:00 hrs. The ranks immediately went to the backyard, where three individuals were present.
A search was conducted, and the bag was retrieved. Upon examination, it was found to contain a transparent plastic bag with several small ziplock parcels containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The three occupants— a 23-year-old male construction worker of Three Miles, Bartica; a 25-year-old male construction worker of Three Miles, Bartica, and a 35-year-old female businesswoman of Four Miles Housing Scheme— were arrested and escorted to the Bartica Police Station.
The suspected cannabis was weighed in their presence and amounted to 288 grams before being lodged. The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.
