Consideration of the 2026 budget estimates continued on Monday in the Committee of Supply of the National Assembly, moving on to allocations for the Parliament Office and constitutional agencies.
During the examination, Opposition Chief Whip and WIN Member of Parliament Tabitha Sarabo-Halley questioned the allocation for the Office of the Leader of the Opposition.
Minister of Governance and Parliamentary Affairs Gail Teixeira responded that the Office of the Leader of the Opposition has been allocated $34.6 million, all of which falls under current expenditure.
Scrutiny of the national budget estimates is continuing as the National Assembly reviews spending across government agencies and constitutional offices.
