SOCU releases new video from day of Mohamed’s Enterprise raid

The Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) has released a new video which it says was recorded just before officers carried out a raid at Mohamed’s Enterprise on Wednesday.

The newly released footage shows a cambio transaction taking place. The Mohameds do not have a license to operate a cambio. Azruddin Mohamed has claimed that there was no US dollars that could be seen in the video released on Wednesday but the newly released video contradicts this according to SOCU. He had also indicated that there was no business being conducted at the building.

SOCU has rejected claims that the raid was politically motivated, stating that the operation was based on evidence that cambio operations were taking place against the law.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The videos released Wednesday shows previous transactions with a newspaper showing the day after the presentation of the budget.

The cambio license issued to Mohamed’s Enterprise had been revoked following the US sanctions handed down on Azruddin, his father Nazar and several of their businesses in 2024.
