The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) has arrested three persons after discovering 10.966 kilograms of suspected cocaine in their possession.
CANU said on Friday, acting on information received, ranks conducted an operation in the vicinity of Mora Village, Parika, East Bank Essequibo. There, three males were intercepted, one of whom was carrying a haversack. A subsequent search of the haversack revealed three (3) brick-like parcels suspected to be cocaine.
Jared Kellawan, Jahdiel Kellawan and David Newsum were arrested and escorted to the residence of Jared Kellawan, where CANU officers discovered an additional seven brick-like parcels suspected to be cocaine. T
The suspects were escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the suspected narcotics, which weighed a total of 10.966 kilograms.
Investigations are ongoing.
