Govt launches centralized procurement website to boost transparency

The Government of Guyana has launched a new centralized website designed to make all public procurement opportunities easier to access — and harder to miss.

The platform, unveiled Tuesday by the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) under the Ministry of Finance, will now serve as the primary online hub for government tenders and contract opportunities.

Accessible at https://eprocure.gov.gy/, the site consolidates procurement notices from across government agencies into one searchable portal, marking what officials describe as a major step toward modernizing Guyana’s procurement system.

Going forward, all Invitations to Tender (ITTs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and other procurement notices issued by government entities will be published and regularly updated on the new site.

Previously, procurement opportunities could be scattered across different channels. The centralized system aims to ensure contractors, suppliers and consultants have equal and timely access to information.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the move is intended to strengthen:

  • Transparency in public spending
  • Fair and open competition
  • Compliance with procurement laws and regulations
  • Public confidence in the national procurement system

The launch comes as Guyana continues to expand infrastructure and public sector projects, increasing the volume and value of government contracts. Officials say centralizing procurement advertisements will improve efficiency and create a more level playing field for businesses seeking to bid on government work.

Prospective bidders are being encouraged to visit the website regularly to stay informed about both current and upcoming opportunities.

Businesses experiencing technical issues or seeking clarification can contact the NPTAB at (592) 223-7042.

The Ministry of Finance says the initiative reinforces the government’s commitment to equitable access, accountability and greater transparency in the management of public funds.
