Masters Promotions’ nationwide dominoes competition to feature over 100 teams

Masters Promotions has partnered with Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) to host the second Ivanoff Vodka Nationwide Dominoes tournament.

This year’s highly anticipated edition will feature over 100 teams from all 10 administrative regions, showcasing their skill, strategy and community pride.

Participants will compete for more than G$3 million in cash prizes, trophies, hampers and other exciting rewards as the tournament continues to highlight the cultural importance of dominoes and foster nationwide camaraderie.

The 2026 tournament will introduce regional series matches, where teams will battle for top honours in their respective regions.

The top three finalists in each regional category will advance to the ‘Champion of Champions’ Finale, set for May 1-3 in Georgetown at a venue to be announced.

Also new to this year’s line-up is the King and Queen Dominoes Tournament, which will be held on May 1, offering G$100,000 in cash prizes and trophies in each category.

Additional attractions include premium Ivanoff Vodka cocktail bars and giveaways.

The first Regional Series Tournament will take place from February 25-27 in Bartica, before moving across the other regions. Special series matches will also be organised for teams from Ministries, Agencies, NGOs, Joint Services, and the public and private sectors.

Non‑traditional teams, community clubs, and casual participants will also be accommodated through specialised match categories. This tournament stands as the largest dominoes event in over a decade and the biggest Ivanoff Vodka-sponsored competition to date, with over G$3 million in cash prizes, trophies and hampers.

The ‘Champion of Champions’ winning team will secure G$600,000 and a trophy, while second, third, and fourth-place teams will receive G$300,000, G$150,000, and G$75,000 respectively, along with trophies.

The MVP of the finals will also earn G$30,000, and additional prizes. Registration costs G$20,000 per team, and each registered team will receive three bottles of premium Ivanoff Vodka and one pack of Ivanoff Vodka-branded dominoes.

Playing guidelines will be provided upon registration and before the tournament begins.

“We have experienced a growing partnership with DDL’s Ivanoff Vodka brand, where together we are elevating the traditional game of dominoes into a celebrated cultural and competitive experience,” said the coordinators of Masters Promotions.

“We deeply appreciate DDL’s unwavering sponsorship for over a decade. It is a privilege to provide a broader platform for participants to showcase their talents as we work to promote dominoes both locally and internationally. We’re excited for what is sure to be an intensely competitive tournament.”

Larry Wills, Marketing Manager of DDL, said: “Ivanoff Vodka is honoured to continue its longstanding partnership of more than a decade in supporting nationwide domino tournaments.”

“For over 10 years, we have proudly championed a sport that unites communities, strengthens cultural bonds, and celebrates a tradition deeply rooted in Guyanese life. This year’s tournament builds on that legacy, and we are excited to once again help create meaningful and memorable experiences for players and fans across the country.” (Modified Press Release from Masters Promotions)
