Over 460 issues raised through the Citizens Connect App launched by the Government of Guyana were resolved and Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally, said the government remains committed to improving services.
Ally a guest on the Starting Point Podcast at the weekend when he disclosed the progress of this recently launched app.
“We have received over 750 issues that people have raised with us, we have fully resolved 467.
“… Once the issue comes in, it is routed from my agency to the ministry that has to resolve that,” Ally said.
The app was created to deliver transparent, efficient and effective service to the citizens of Guyana. Ally assured citizens that each concern is being dealt with.
“I believe citizens just want to be heard and want to be responded to” he said.
Many of the issues raised include garbage collection delays, drainage challenges, and other community challenges.
Furthermore, Ally explained that in many cases the citizens are asking about issues that might not have been public knowledge and the reassurance has helped.
Meanwhile, the government minister said the Skills Connect App, similar to Citizen Connect, is already gaining traction, with more than 1,200 persons registering their skills across a range of trades and positioning themselves to get available jobs.
