Richard Hannif was the class of the field at the Lusignan Golf Club, putting on a dominant display to claim the overall male title at the Readymix Concrete Limited/Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Tournament.
In a competitive field of 34 players enjoying pristine golfing conditions, Hannif carded a superb gross 82, playing off his handicap to finish with a tournament-best net score of 70.
His stellar afternoon didn’t stop there. Hannif also scooped the Best Gross title and comfortably wrapped up first place in the Men’s 0–13 Handicap Flight.
Mike Mangal took the runner-up spot in the top flight with a net 73 (gross 84), just edging out George Bulkan, who finished third with a net 73 (gross 85).
In the Ladies Division, Joaan Deo produced a composed performance to be crowned the overall female champion.

Deo carded a net 71 from a gross 86 to lift the trophy ahead of an impressive newcomer, Princessa, who finished second. Club officials highlighted Princessa’s strong debut as a brilliant sign for the continued growth of the women’s game at Lusignan.
Meanwhile, the Men’s 14–28 Handicap Flight delivered plenty of drama, but it was Anand Persaud who held his nerve to claim victory with a net 71 (gross 85).
Troy Cadogan pushed him close to finish second with a net 72, while Miguel Nunes rounded out the podium positions in third with a net 74.
There was also silverware for the big-hitters and precision players in the special prize categories. Karamchan Persaud claimed bragging rights with the longest drive of the day, while Orson Ferguson walked away with the closest-to-the-pin honours.

The successful event, staged in collaboration with Banks DIH, concluded with the Lusignan Golf Club expressing its gratitude to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and the sponsors for delivering another memorable day on the fairway. (Modified Press Release)
