Parmeshwar Ram to lead Guyana at Regional U-19 50-over tournament

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has announced a 23-member training squad to begin preparations for the upcoming Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional Under-19 Tournament.

The tournament, which will be played exclusively in the 50-over format, is scheduled to take place in Antigua from July 7 to 23, 2026.

The squad is set to enter a preparation camp this weekend, after which the final touring party will be announced.

Reports indicate the encampment is likely to be held in Essequibo, utilising the hostel and the indoor and outdoor facilities, given that the Anna Regina National Stadium is in close proximity to the hostel.

Parmeshwar Ram has been named captain, with Romario Ramdeholl appointed as his deputy.

The squad also features 16-year-old batting prodigy Shamar Apple, who returns to the under-19 setup after representing the West Indies at the ICC Under-19 World Cup earlier this year.
