Meanwhile, a verbal contract has been agreed between the GCB, Crandon and Hercules in the interim of the written contract, since Jaguars are set to soon resume training as the Regional Four-Day Championship, scheduled to commence in February 2022.
New contracts will be drafted under Guyana Amazon Jaguars instead of Guyana Jaguars, who were managed by Cricket Guyana Inc. and not the GCB.
GCB Vice-President Hilbert Foster, who chaired the committee which interviewed persons for the coaching posts, indicated that eight persons applied for the position of Head Coach and Assistant Coach.
Those assisting Foster were Chief Executive Officer Claude Raphael, Secretary Ronald Williams and Territorial Development Officer, Colin Stuart.
On August 26, 2021, the GCB on its official Facebook page posted a job application for the positions.
The GCB, in outlining the requirements for the position, stated that applicants must have: At least a Cricket West Indies Level Two Coaching Certificate or its equivalent; at least two years coaching experience; must be able to work unsupervised, be result-driven, and have the requisite team management skills; must be resident in Guyana during the contract period; must be able to efficiently plan, organise and implement a players/team development programme; must be prepared to submit written proposals plans and reports to the GCB on all aspects of their coaching assignments; and must be able to work unsupervised and must be highly motivated individuals.
