Santiago Frusto, Moët Hennessy Market Manager (South America), explained that part of the mission of the global brand is to ensure there is social development in communities.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., who is an avid fan of the sport and a player as well, reminisced on his early days at the court, but most importantly highlighted the critical bond needed between the Corporate Community and Sport.
A similar call was made by the Mayor of Georgetown, Ubraj Narine, who underscored the important role sport plays in social development.
Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association President, Jermaine Slater, thanked Hennessy for its support and hoped the partnership strengthens further throughout the year.
Hennessy’s long-term adoption of the 65-year-old Burnham Court entailed the installation of new lights, refurbishing of the officials’ tables, players’ areas, and the patron stand, painting of the court’s tarmac, and the establishment of a mobile VIP.
