Cox was represented by attorney Madan Kissoon, who also made a no-case submission, but the judge did not rule in his favour. He was called to lead his defence and but he maintained his innocence.

Justice Kissoon is expected to sum up the evidence against Cox on February 17, after which a jury will deliberate to arrive at a verdict.

Charles, a student of the Covent Garden Secondary School, was stabbed while attending a concert in the Nursery School compound in that village.

The teenager of Grove, East Bank Demerara, was there with other friends when he was stabbed to the chest.

There were several theories on what fuelled the misunderstanding.
