First Lady Arya Ali assisting a child to ‘let-up’ her kite
She used the opportunity to explain the significance of the season to the children and reminded them to fly their kites in open spaces only as she joined a group of children who immediately sought to ‘let-up’ their kites.
“This is nostalgic because I remember how excited I felt as a child when it was Easter time. I wasn’t too keen on ‘letting-up’ kites, but I always delighted in flying it. It felt like an accomplishment when you had your kite soaring,” she was quoted as saying in the press release.
Children from several other communities in the region were presented with their kites from the regional officials, while a quantity of stationery was also donated by the Office of the First Lady for distribution and a quantity of the kites were donated by Subrina Mohan.
