Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Kashif Muhammad, contended that “greatness is not born, it is made…practice makes perfect”, and those are pillars that he sees embodied in the GSA and the reason for their dominance in the Caribbean.
Vice-President of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA), Godfrey Munroe, highlighted that the GOA is the title sponsor, and they supported in a jiffy due to the professionalism of the Association, and they also view the tournament as an “incubator” for talent.
GSA’s Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, Anabelle Singh, thanked the numerous sponsors for their overwhelming support and key stakeholders behind the scenes, who work tirelessly to make the event a success.
Guyana has not held the overall crown since their 12th consecutive title in 2016 and is confident given the depth in the squad, they can regain the crown.
Athletes from Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago are in Guyana, however, all but St. Vincent will participate in the team segment.
