UPDATE: $3.5M in cocaine and .32 Taurus firearm, ammo found at Eccles home

The Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Monday afternoon confirmed that a quantity of cocaine with a street value of approximately $3.5 million was removed from the property of a suspected drug trafficker at Eccles, East Bank Demerara, Monday morning.

Along with the cocaine, which weighed 3.27 kg, CANU also found and removed a total of 27 9mm rounds, one .32 Taurus firearm along with one magazine and 25 matching .32 rounds.

Fifty-two-year-old Andrew Morgan, the brother of Peter Morgan – a deportee and convicted drug trafficker – was also arrested by CANU ranks.

The Unit said its Officers were acting on intelligence when they conducted the narcotics operation at Lot 142 Ixora Avenue, Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
