Anand Persaud tames wet conditions to storm into overall lead

Anand Persaud mastered challenging, rain-soaked conditions to claim the overall championship title and seize control of the National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour #2 standings.

Despite persistent downpours and soft course conditions, Persaud delivered a spectacular back-nine blitz to secure maximum points and blow the leaderboard wide open.

His dominant performance puts him clear at the top of the standings with 18 points, overtaking Maxim Mangra.

While the damp conditions troubled much of the field, the longer hitters found joy on a softened course. None more so than Persaud, who turned the tournament on its head with a blistering finish.

He carded an exceptional gross 39 and a net 31 on the back nine, cruising to an outstanding overall net 66.

The battle for the front nine was a much tighter affair. Bala ultimately edged out a crowded field to take the front-nine honors, carding an impressive net 34 to win by a solitary stroke.

Behind the runaway leader, several players made significant moves up the leaderboard:

  • Arnol Deo picked up his first points of the season with a resilient performance, finishing second overall with a net 71.
  • Joseph Szeplaki snatched third place after winning a tense tiebreaker against Balaji Vinjimoor, with both players finishing at net 72.
  • Mohanlall Dindanauth showed characteristic consistency to round out the top performers with a net 73.
