There will be a new Demerara zone champion in the Future Warriors Tapeball tournament after a clinical, all-round display from Chateau Margot Primary dumped defending champions Grove Primary out of the competition on a rain-affected but ultimately rewarding opening day at the National Stadium.

West Ruimveldt will face Rama Krishna Primary, who produced the most lopsided victory of the afternoon. Powered by Shiv Singh’s fluent, 15-ball 21 not out, Rama Krishna posted an imposing 60 for 1 before their bowlers completely dismantled Comenius Primary, routing them for just 21 for 7 in a comprehensive bowling display.
The tournament, which also featured spirited participation from Camille’s Academy, Supply Primary, La Grange Primary, ISA Islamic Primary, Meten-Meer-Zorg, Winfer Gardens, St. Pius, and Redeemer Primary, moves into its business end on Sunday morning.
