A tragic accident on the Epsom Public Road, Corentyne Berbice on Sunday night has resulted in the death man.
Samuel Campbell, a 29-year-old resident of Lot 28 Fourth Street, Manchester Village in Corentyne Berbice, lost his life in the crash.
According to reports, around 22:20 hours, Campbell was driving motorcar PAP 1332 at an alleged fast rate when he reportedly collided with another vehicle on the Eversham bridge. The impact caused him to crash into a Guyana Power and Light (GPL) pole before coming to an halt on a bridge at Epsom Village.
Unfortunately, Campbell sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Public-spirited citizens stepped in to help by removing his body from the wreckage.
The police were alerted and quickly arrived to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
The scene was heart-wrenching, as family and friends of Campbell showed up, hoping for the best but met with the grim reality of his passing. Many were overcome with grief, expressing disbelief at the sudden loss of their loved one.
An ambulance later transported Campbellās body to the Number 75 Regional Hospital, where a doctor officially confirmed his death.
Police are continuing their investigations into the tragic accident.
